The Three Towers are remains of the old fortress marking the extent of the old town of Luxembourg. The square central section is the oldest part of the gate and dates from the 12th Century. At one time, the towers were used as a prison. The Three Towers are located at the end of Rue Wiltheim, where the street meets Boulevard J. Ulveling and Boulevard Victor Thorn. In these two streets are turrets built by the Spanish in the 17th Century.
