Located at the former crossroads of two Roman roads, the Fish Market is the centre of the old town of Luxembourg. This is where the first markets were held. Historically important buildings surround the square. Every Easter Monday, Emmaischen is celebrated here. People come to buy `Peckvillercher` - small colourful birds baked in clay through which children love to whistle. They are only sold on Easter Monday.
