The Church of St Nicholas dates from the 13th Century when it was built for the Roth Basilica. At the time, and until the 18th Century, this part of Vianden was in the parish of Roth. St Nicholas`s Church was severely damaged by fire in 1723, but it was soon rebuilt. This is not a large church but, if you take a look inside, you will see late Gothic cross-ribbed vaulting and a baroque high altar. The church is in the lower part of the town.
