This small World War 11 museum consists mainly of weapons, uniforms, documents and other items relating to the 1940-1945 war. The Battle of the Bulge was the name given to the Ardennes Offensive in the winter of 1945. Most of Luxembourg had been liberated by the American Army in the September of 1944, but the Germans launched a counter-attack in December in the Ardennes. Several months of bitter fighting followed before the enemy finally retreated out of the region. In the centre of Clervaux, there is a bronze statue commemorating the American soldiers who engaged in the war in Luxembourg.
