The former copper mine is over 500 years old and it had its heyday in the late 19th Century and early 20th Century. It is the largest mine in northern Luxembourg. The museum explains the geology and the history of the mine, and the methods of extracting the ore. There is also a geological path with information boards. Visitors can also take an underground tour of the 150 feet deep mineshafts to discover the problems involved in mining for copper.
