Medieval Stolzembourg Castle was once in the ownership of the Lords of Brandenbourg. The fortress changed hands several times, and was destroyed by the Governor of Luxembourg in 1454. It was attacked again in the 1670s. The only remains of the medieval castle are two stretches of wall and some cellars. On the site of the former castle, a Scottish type castellated manor house was built in 1898 by an English lady.
