This large Roman villa lies at the foot of Sonniebierg in Helmsange. It is typical of other Roman villas found in Luxembourg. This grand building was about 100 metres long and 50 metres wide. On the ground floor it had a reception room, kitchen, cellar, two hypocausts and interior courtyards. Thought to date from about 30 BC, it may have been in use over a period of three centuries. Over 400 Roman coins have been found on the site as well as jewellery such as beads and rings. A number of religious objects were also discovered.
