This historic church dates from the 12th Century and it was the first parish church for the area. The Templars were given the basilica by the Count of Vianden, but later there were problems leading to excommunications when the Trinitarians built their monastery and church in Vianden. Originally the church had one nave. After being substantially enlarged, it now has three naves and an imposing tower. Inside, you will see 15th Century Gothic vaulting and a fine baroque altar dating from about 1760.
