This ancient church was built on the site of a Roman villa. It is now classed as an historical monument. There was a cemetery around it between the 10th and 18th Centuries. In the 1460s, the church was given two naves. There are 15th Century frescoes depicting St Laurence`s life, and later ones of plants. Roman and medieval stone tombs can be seen in the crypt. The church is situated in a pedestrianised area in the centre of the old part of Diekirch.
