The Oktave is the main religious event in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and it lasts from the third to the fifth Sunday after Easter. It dates back to the 17th Century and people from all over Luxembourg come to the capital to pray to the Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, the small statue in Notre Dame Cathedrale. During this period there is a fair in Place Guillaume. On the 5th Sunday, a procession that includes the Grand Ducal family and government officials carry the statue through the city.
