Every year, on the second Sunday of the month of October, a nut market is held in the streets of Vianden. The district has a long history of nut production, and in the past, one fifth of all the nut trees in Luxembourg grew in Vianden`s orchards. After a break of some years, the walnut market was reintroduced in 1970, and is now a popular festival. Fresh walnuts and all kinds of walnut based products are on sale such as nut liquer, nut milk, nut candy, cakes, cheese and bread etc Entertainment is provided by bands.
