Built in the late Gothic style, the cathedral dates from the early 17th Century and was originally a Jesuit church. Many changes have taken place and in 1870 it became a cathedral. Inside is the statue of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, reputed to perform miracles and the patron saint of the city since 1666. The crypt contains the tombs of bishops and counts, including the tomb of John the Blind, King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg.
