This multi-level museum is housed in a group of former dwellings that have been restored in an old part of the city. The museum traces the city`s development over 1000 years since its origin in the tenth Century. The lower levels, cut into the rock, explore the city`s history through various objects and an interactive multi-media system. A panoramic lift raises visitors to the different levels. Large temporary exhibitions are displayed on the upper floors.
