The small town of Larochette in its narrow wooded valley is dominated by the 12th Century castle perched on a rocky hill. There are many legends about the fortress, which was destroyed by fire in 1565. Part of the castle has been completely rebuilt, and work is continuing. It is now privately owned, but guided tours are available. The castle can be reached by footpath from Larochette, or by car.
