The museum is dedicated to the victorious US General George Smith Patton Jnr, who was born in California in 1885. He became an expert in tank warfare and his troops liberated the town of Ettelbruck in December 1944. A year later, he died after being fatally injured in a car crash in Germany. He was buried at Hamm, Luxembourg. The museum contains many photographs and documents about the German invasion and occupation of Luxembourg and its liberation by the American troops. Weapons and arms are on display and there is a section about the aerial battles above Luxembourg.
