The museum houses the fascinating collection made by Eugene Pesch who lived and worked in the area. He devoted much of his life to collecting fossils, minerals and miners` tools. Lasauvage was a steel and mining village for over 350 years, the last mine closing in the 1970s. In the museum there is a reconstruction of an iron ore mine with the tools that were used. Eugene Pesch was born in 1908 and died in December 1991 at the age of 83.
