Echternach Lake is a large, artificial lake situated near the site of a Roman villa on the edge of the town. The lake is part of a recreational centre offering activities such as fishing, sailing, canoeing and wind surfing. There are opportunities for games, including mini-golf. Country walks can be started from the lake, which is also on the itinerary of Echternach`s Cultural Walk. The youth hostel nearby has a climbing wall that is accessible to the public.
