Sitting on a wooded hill called Gehaansbierg and Mont St Jean, Dudelange Castle dates from 1412. It was probably built on the site of an earlier medieval castle. This once important fortress was destroyed by the French in 1552. A tower offers views over the extensive remains and the Alzette Valley. It is also a site of worship and excavations have uncovered the foundations of a Gothic church. Stations of the Cross, built in the 1930s, line the route.
