Cultural Meeting Place of Neumunster Abbey

This cultural centre was formerly a Benedictine Abbey that replaced an earlier abbey destroyed during a war in the mid 16th Century. After the French Revolution, the abbey was changed into a military hospital and it served as such until the 1860s. Later it was used as a man`s prison and in the Tuteshall the inmates spent their time making bags. The centre is now a venue for conferences, concerts, plays, seminars, studios and workshops. There are various cultural institutions and a restaurant.
