The chateau is named after Henri Tudor who drew plans for his scientific inventions in the mansion. Born in 1859, he pioneered electric lighing and invented lead accumulators. He died in 1928, and the hydro-electric power station near Rosport was built some time later, in 1957. An old chateau here was owned by the Abbess of Trier. The present building, located in pleasant parkland, was built in the late 19th Century. It is now the headquarters of local government.
