Situated in the small village of Lasauvage, Saintignon Castle houses an exhibition about the history of this former mining community on the border with France. The last mine here closed in 1976. The miners` cottages and other buildings, including the castle, have been renovated during a restoration scheme. St Barbara`s Church, with its balcony, dates from the 19th Century when it was built by the Count of Saintignon. There is also an exhibition at the narrow gauge railway station.
