The ruins of Brandenbourg Castle loom over a tiny hamlet in the valley of the Blees. Its origin was in the 10th Century with the building of the keep. During the 15th and 16th Centuries, it was extended by the addition of a Gothic chapel, cellars and a wall fortified with towers. Once owned by the Lords of Brandenbourg, the castle changed hands frequently and eventually fell into ruin. Near the castle entrance there is a Roman stone.
