The Bildchen Chapel stands in woods on a hill above Vianden Castle. It was built in 1848 and inside is the lower part of the altar from Vianden Castle. Every year there is a pilgrimage to this chapel. It takes place on the first Sunday after the 16th of August when Vianden`s congregation makes its way to the miraculous statue of Our Virgin of the Bildchen. Breathtaking views can be enjoyed from the site of the chapel. It can be reached by walking through the woods from the castle, or the top of the chairlift, or from the Indian Forest.
